Running back Isaiah Crowell is going to get paid this offseason. Here are the three teams that could end up bidding the most for his services.

The Cleveland Browns went 0-16 last year, but Isaiah Crowell was one of the few bright spots. Crowell, 25, led the team in rushing with 853 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Back in 2016, Crowell set his career high with 952 rushing yards and seven scores.

The former Alabama State star has also shown the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, notching 68 receptions over the past two seasons.

Best fits

1. Cleveland Browns

The Browns are in the midst of a full-scale rebuild, and keeping Crowell in the fold would be a prudent decision. At only 25 years old, he still has good years ahead of him, and retaining him would give Cleveland one less spot to fill on the depth chart. If the Browns did land Saquon Barkley in the draft, Crowell could provide a very good secondary option as well.

2. Detroit Lions

The Lions have had exactly one 1,00-yard rusher in Matthew Stafford’s career. It’s time for Detroit to get serious about giving its franchise quarterback some help, because the current groups headlined by Ameer Abdullah and Zach Zenner aren’t getting the job done. Crowell isn’t a top-end back, but he’s a solid contributor who could force defenses to respect the run in Motown.

3. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins traded away Jay Ajayi at midseason in 2017, and now have a need. Crowell would be a nice fit in Adam Gase’s offense, able to catch the ball and make somebody miss. Miami is trying to bounce back after a brutal 6-10 campaign, and while they are cap strapped, the Dolphins could create enough flexibility to bring Crowell into the fold.
