2. Crystal Palace win at Stamford Bridge

Crystal Palace put in one of their best performances of the season on Monday night, when they should’ve beaten Manchester United after leading 2-0. Unfortunately for Eagles fans, their side succumbed to a very late Nemanja Matic wonder-strike to lose 3-2.

Roy Hodgson and his players would have been extremely frustrated with the outcome, but they can certainly take positives from the match. They outplayed a superior side for large stretches and if it weren’t for some poor defending, they probably would’ve won.

In Saturday’s late game, they face a trip to Stamford Bridge. Palace’s first win of the season came over the Blues at Selhurst Park and with Chelsea in a bad run of form, they’ll be hopeful of causing another upset.

The Blues are fighting for a top-four place, but they have a much more important game against Barcelona the following Wednesday. That could lead to their players taking a more relaxed approach toward a game they should probably win.

If Hodgson’s men sort out their defensive woes, they have the potential to win this match. They’re yet to win a game without Wilfried Zaha in the side, but this weekend’s contest will change that stat.
