Bengals trade for Cordy Glenn from Bills
After losing Andrew Whitworth a season ago, the Cincinnati Bengals have solidified their left tackle spot by acquiring Cordy Glenn from the Buffalo Bills.
The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t made the playoffs in two seasons, and they are trying to reverse that trend.
On Monday, the Bengals agreed to acquire left tackle Cordy Glenn from the Buffalo Bills. In exchange, the Bengals will move down to 21st in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, while the Bills slide up to Cincinnati’s original No. 12 position.
The two teams also swapped fifth and sixth-round selections. The trade will be made official at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday afternoon when the new league year begins.
Glenn, 28, is one of the premier left tackles in the game today. After playing for six seasons with the Bills, the former Georgia product is moving onto his second team. The 6-foot-6, 345-pounder has never made a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team, but has consistently been a tower of strength on the blind side, most-recently for Tyrod Taylor.
As for Cincinnati, the move is an obvious upgrade. Last year, the Bengals struggled to protect Andy Dalton with a line that included Jake Fisher, Cedric Ogbuehi and Andre Smith. The end result was going 7-9, with Dalton being sacked 39 times.

For Buffalo, the move unloads a large salary in Glenn, but also gets it nine spots further up the draft board. Considering the Bills’ need for a quarterback, general manager Brandon Beane is clearly angling to have as much firepower as possible. Currently, Buffalo has multiple picks in each of the first three rounds.
