Champions league power rankings for the quarterfinal stage, featuring Barcelona, Sevilla and Bayern Munich.

Sevilla will be in the last eight of the Champions League after their stunning 2-1 win over Manchester United in the last 16 on Tuesday. While Sevilla were worthy winners at Old Trafford, they still don’t top the latest power rankings ahead of the quarter-final stage.

Real Madrid aren’t ready to give up on winning the Champions League for the fourth time in five years. Los Blancos‘ chances could be harmed by old enemy Barcelona, with the Blaugrana in fine form after beating Chelsea 3-0 on Wednesday, with Lionel Messi scoring his 99th and 100th Champions League goals.

Holders Real are in the last eight after beating PSG, as are last season’s beaten finalists Juventus, who earned plenty of plaudits after eliminating Tottenham at Wembley.

Spurs are out, but the Premier League is still well represented, thanks to would-be champions Manchester City and fourth-placed Liverpool.

While this group is strong, none will welcome the idea of drawing Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga giants are looking ominously powerful on the watch of Jupp Heynckes, the last manager to lift the trophy with Die Roten.

Find out where every member of the last eight ranks.

8. Roma

Roma have quietly been putting together some excellent results recently. The team from the Italian capital blew the Serie A title race wide open when they beat then-leaders Napoli 4-2 away earlier this month.

An equally impressive 1-0 victory at home to Shakhtar Donetsk has booked i Giallorossi’s place in the last eight. Manager Eusebio Di Francesco oversees a squad combining experience and guile with the enthusiasm of youth.

Former City pair Edin Dzeko and Aleksandar Kolarov offer plenty of know-how, while Radja Nainggolan is an intimidating presence in midfield.

Further forward, Cengiz Under is rapidly emerging as a player to watch. The 20-year-old Turkish talent has been scoring for fun across all competitions, and is capable of turning any game.

Roma have the right mix of defensive resolve, midfield brawn and craft in attacking areas to survive any two-legged tie.
