Now we can all argue about whether Drake is making Fortnite even hotter, vice versa or how Ninja factors into all this.

If you were trying to make up a story just to smash as many potential trending topics as possible into the lede, you could do worse than Fortnite, the hottest video game on the planet right now, Ninja, the crazy popular Fortnite Twitch streamer, and Drake, who … well, you know who Drake is.

Fortunately, we don’t have to invent a reason to talk about them all at once. As luck would have it, even Drake found out who Ninja was during the streamer’s “only in 2018” rise to fame, and they ended up playing Fortnite together on the same stream.

As Kotaku reports, a lot of people watched at the same time. As in more than half a million people.

To put that in perspective, the previous record for concurrent viewers on any Twitch stream was under 400,000, and as I’m typing this there are more than 600,000 people watching.

How high can this go? Is a million within reach? To paraphrase Drake himself, if you’re reading this after the stream finishes, it’s too late.

UPDATE: The stream got over 600,000 concurrent viewers for a bit, leading to Ninja and Drake discussing whether they might be able to go for a million. Also, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster wanted to get in on the party, as did Travis Scott, and Kim Dotcom did join, so this has another level of craziness it can still reach.
