The Philadelphia Eagles were in a cap crunch and decided to release defensive lineman Vinny Curry, putting another intriguing free agent on the market.

After winning the Super Bowl in February, it would have been understandable if Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was passive during free agency. Instead, the Eagles have been rolling with one deal after the next, trading for Michael Bennett and Daryl Worley before signing Haloti Ngata and Nigel Bradham.

However, with expensive players comes tough decisions, and Roseman made one on Friday afternoon by releasing defensive lineman Vinny Curry. Curry, 29, has been with the Eagles since 2012. In the ensuing six seasons, Curry amassed 22 sacks, but was cut so Philadelphia could save $5 million on the cap this season.

So who could pick Curry up? Here are three solid fits.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

Everybody already knows about Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa, but the inside push is lacking in Los Angeles. The Chargers don’t have a ton of money to spend, but they could use a little capital to bring Curry into the fold.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City hosted Muhammad Wilkerson for a visit, but watched the former New York Jets star sign in Green Bay. The Chiefs are desperate for increased pass rush on the interior of the line, and could get some help there from Curry.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers had the fewest sacks in the NFL last year, so any and all help along the defensive line is welcome. Curry isn’t going to notch double-digit sacks or anything like that, but he could be a nice piece alongside Noah Spence and Gerald McCoy in the front seven.
