NHL Power Rankings: Bruins climb as the Golden Knights fall
16. Philadelphia Flyers (-3)
The Philadelphia Flyers are a hard team to describe, they are not overly great at anything but decent everywhere. Claude Giroux has bounced back into top form and has collected 84 points so far this season. Along with the resurgence of Giroux, Jakub Voracek is having a great season. He has 78 points in 73 games and is second on the team. The Flyers also have a high-end pair of young defenseman on their roster. Ivan Provorov has emerged to be one of the top young defensemen of the year. It is hard to say if the Flyers will have any success when the playoffs hit because of their struggles in the net but in the Metropolitan division, anything is possible.
The Flyers split their schedule last week dropping games to the Vegas Golden Knights and the Columbus Blue Jackets. They were able to rebound and beat the Carolina Hurricanes and take points from the Washington Capitals a team they are trying to chase down at the top of the Metropolitan Division. There are only three games on the schedule this week for the Flyers. They face the Detroit Red Wings and the New York Rangers before a big matchup Sunday against their rival Pittsburgh Penguins in what could be an early playoff preview.
