2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets trade up for Josh Rosen
By Brad Weiss
The Oakland Raiders had a rough 2016 season, as they won only six games, and found themselves towards the bottom of the AFC West. Entering the year, the Silver and Black was supposed to challenge for the Super Bowl, but they ended up disappointing on both sides of the ball. All three top coaches were fired from last year’s team, and the organization brought back a familiar face in Jon Gruden to be the head coach.
This offseason, Oakland has done a nice job filling holes all over their roster. They have brought in cornerbacks, wide receivers, and linebackers, and should now fill a hole along the defensive line. Oakland signed Justin Ellis to a three-year deal, and he should be a starter for the team in 2018, but he needs someone next to him.
With the tenth overall pick, Oakland should draft a defensive tackle, and Vita Vea is the best of the bunch. Vea is one of those players who can be dominant against the run, and the pass, and the Raiders need someone to take the pressure off of Khalil Mack on defense. With so many quarterbacks going early, the Raiders can fix their defensive holes at No. 10, and Vea may be the most glaring.
