Of course, Thursday brings us another new episode of Grey’s Anatomy but this one airs before the series premiere of its firefighter spin-off, Station 19.

Yes, I’m shamelessly plugging Station 19 wherever I can. It’s our sacred duty as Shonda Rhimes fans to do that. More importantly, this is a Grey’s Anatomy spin-off. It belongs in the family of “The one that started it all … ”

Let’s say Station 19 doesn’t do well. What if people start asking themselves whether Shondaland lost its touch? What if people start questioning the quality of Grey’s Anatomy next? Season 16 seems like a natural place to pull the plug, but who even wants to think about that?

Seriously, Shonda Rhimes is going to Netflix. So, what if Station 19 and For the People are just nonsense filler to keep the masses calm? This year, Scandal goes off the air. Next year, How to Get Away with Murder. The year after that, Grey’s Anatomy. Suddenly, you wake up and the entire TGIT lineup has been dismantled as it slips quietly into the night before you even understand what’s happening.

All because we didn’t boost Station 19 like we were supposed to. So, if you like Grey’s Anatomy, watch Station 19.

Now, let’s check out the synopsis for “Caught Somewhere in Time,” courtesy of TV Guide:

"Maggie and Jackson are enjoying spending time together, but he must turn his concentration toward the groundbreaking vaginoplasty surgery he has scheduled with Catherine and Richard. Meanwhile, Meredith and Jo hit a roadblock with their contest submission, so Jo helps Bailey with an incoming trauma patient who used to be an astronaut."

Hopefully, they do something more with the astronaut storyline than what they did with last week’s flashback sequences. Missed last week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy? Here’s our recap and review of “Old Scars, Future Hearts.”
