The No. 11 Loyola-Chicago Ramblers square off against No. 7 Nevada Wolf Pack for a place in the Elite Eight on Thursday.  Here’s everything you need to watch on TV and online.

The Sweet 16 kicks off Thursday and no matter what all the experts expected to happen, the complete opposite has transpired and the madness of the NCAA Tournament rears its head, once again. Loyola-Chicago, an unlikely suitor to land in the Sweet 16 stands front and center at the head of the “Cinderellas,” and with faith on their side and Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt pulling at our heartstrings, the Ramblers have a chance at something special.

Knocking off Miami in the first round, the Ramblers defeated the No. 3 Tennessee Volunteers in the Round of 32 on a “prayer” of a shot from Guard Clayton Custer that found a kind rim, hitting the front iron, before bouncing in and knocking off the Vols 63-62 to punch the Ramblers’ ticket to Atlanta.

Accounting for a deficiency in talent compared to their opponents, the Ramblers have displayed an exceptional understanding of team basketball. The Ramblers have been able to stay in games and make the push late by wearing down opponents staying patient within their offense and making the extra pass showcasing their excellent vision and discipline. Against Miami and Tennessee, the Ramblers recorded 19 and 17 assists respectively — the Wolf Pack will need to limit Loyola’s easy distribution early on and keep the Ramblers on the charity stripe, where they’ve averaged a dismal 56.6 percent on 15-of-25 attempts from the line.

The Wolfpack of Nevada, led by rising star Head Coach Eric Musselman are Cinderella darlings in their own right. After a magical upset of the Cincinnati Bearcats on Sunday, in which the Wolfpack came back from down 22 points to win the game, 75-73, they now focus their sights on taking down a hungry Loyola team.

Playing alongside of his twin brother, Caleb Martin, Cody Martin was a disruption for Mick Cronin as he torched the Bearcats to a tune of 25 points. Twin brother Caleb responded with 10 points, along with Josh Hall adding 14 points and Forward Jordan Caroline posting an impressive line of 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the win.

The Wolf Pack’s formula for success will be to focus on playing through the Caroline and the Martin twins. Combining for 50.5 points per game during the regular season, the “big 3” of Martin, Martin, and Caroline is the catalyst for the 10th best offense in the NCAA with a 115.9 rating, and outside of scoring, the trio accounted for 20.4 rebounds per game.
