The Loyola-Chicago Ramblers’ team chaplain, Sister Jean, has captured the heart of America as Loyola-Chicago has made a run to the Elite Eight. Now she has her own bobblehead.

Loyola-Chicago’s memorable run to the Elite Eight has turned all of America into Ramblers fans. After a buzzer-beater against Miami in the Round of 64, Loyola-Chicago got a last-second leaner to fall against Tennessee. In the Sweet 16 against Nevada, the Ramblers connected on a 3-pointer with 6.2 seconds left to seal the win.

Three NCAA Tournament wins by a combined four points. Pretty impressive stuff from Loyola-Chicago.

And in the midst of it all is the Ramblers’ lovable team chaplain, Sister Jean.

Jean Delores-Schmidt, who is 98 years young, has been the team chaplain since 1994. Recently, she’s been the focus of tons of media attention for her love and dedication for the Ramblers.

While some would be irritated by the constant interview requests and cameras, Sister Jean has taken it all in stride – and with some humor to boot.

When asked how she was handling her newfound national celebrity status, Sister Jean joking responded to Lauren Comitor of The Athletic Chicago:

“Really, if I can correct you, international.”
