Round 4, Pick 133 –Godwin Igwebuike S Northwestern

This is another spot where the Packers could be looking to move up. With three fifth-round picks in their pocket and 5.1 now under their control, they could use this late-fourth plus the top fifth to move up in the fourth for a player.

Igwebuike quietly excelled at the combine, testing as an elite athlete. He’s a downhill safety who can play in the box but isn’t great in man coverage at this point. That said, he’s a smart, experienced and plays with an edge. His excellent athletic testing numbers suggest he could become better in coverage, which is what the Packers pay Joe Whitt the big bucks to handle.

He’s basically what the Packers want Kentrell Brice to be, but he isn’t. At least not yet. Given how often Mike Pettine likes to play with an extra safety, Igwebuike could walk into an important role playing in a three-safety nickel look for the Packers.
