Patrick McCaw suffered a scary injury on Saturday night, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr called out Vince Carter as a result.

Golden State Warriors guard Patrick McCaw had to be stretched out of Saturday’s game against the Sacramento Kings after he was undercut by Vince Carter on a layup. It didn’t seem to be an intentionally dirty play by Carter but it nonetheless sent McCaw careening towards the hardwood, landing hard on his back.

He immediately writhed in pain and can be heard screaming on television audio. McCaw was attended to and stretched to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was visibly upset on the sideline, yelling at Kings players huddled by Vince Carter. At one point, one of the players says something to Kerr to which he responds that he’s not yelling at the player responding rather he’s yelling at Carter.

“I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at Vince,” Kerr is heard saying. “He knows better”

Here’s the video of Kerr as well as the injury. It’s hard to watch so scroll past if you don’t want to subject yourself to it.

For his part, Carter was distraught as soon as McCaw hit the floor. He was comforted not only by his own teammates but by Warriors players as well.

Kerr also made his way over to Carter to comfort him as they stood by McCaw as he was placed on the stretcher.

No further word has come back on McCaw or his status. The game continued once he was taken away, but it’s hard to imagine anyone was thinking about basketball after what happened.
