After an abysmal performance against the Los Angeles Kings in their last meeting, the Colorado Avalanche look to redeem themselves going into their last push for playoffs.

What a time to be a hockey fan.

The regular season is ending and it has been full of notable stories, not many more impressive than the rebound of the Colorado Avalanche. They look to steal a very important road win against a resurgent Anze Kopitar and the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday as the fight for the last couple of playoff spots is tightening up in the West.

Here is everything you need to know about the game.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Los Angeles Kings

Date: Tuesday, April 2

Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California

Time: 10:30 p.m. ET

TV : SN, SN1, PRIME, ALT

Live Stream: Fubo.tv

Coming into this season, no-one could have expected the rebound that the Colorado Avalanche have had. Coming off of last years historically atrocious season that saw Jared Bedner and crew only accumulating a total of 48 points over the entire season, the Avalanche have bounced back amazingly.

Led by strong youth core spearheaded by my nomination for the Hart Trophy this year Nathan MacKinnon, the Avalanche currently have 92 points — four points behind the Minnesota Wild for the last divisional playoff spot in the ever-contested Central. They are currently tied with the Blues for the last wild card spot, so a win with only four games would be amazing for the playoff hopes.

The Avalanche need Nathan MacKinnon to stay as hot as he has been all season down the stretch as he the key driver for the entire team. The 22-year old is enjoying an amazing career year in his fifth campaign. He currently sits fourth in the scoring race behind Connor McDavid, Nikita Kucherov and Evgeni Malkin with 93 points, and is second in the league behind Brad Marchand for average points per game (1.333 vs 1.329).

The Kings, while they are enjoying a better season than last with the resurgence of Anze Kopitar and Johnathan Quick, are not locked into a playoff spot yet. The Kings currently sit with 94 points — just one ahead of the Ducks for the last divisional playoff spot in the Central.

The last time these two teams faced, the Kings rolled the Avalanche with a score of 7-1. Expect this to be a very hard game for the Avalanche as it is in L.A., as well. With both teams fighting for playoff positioning the stretch expect a fast paced game with lots of offense.
