One of the best golfers on the PGA Tour is Dustin Johnson. He’s still looking for his first green jacket. Will Johnson be playing in the 2018 Masters?
Maybe this year will have a new winner at The Masters? To be fair, it is insanely hard to repeat as Masters champion. You essentially have to be Tiger Woods to pull that off. Sorry, Sergio Garcia. If anybody is going to win his first green jacket this April, it might as well be Dustin Johnson. But is he playing in the 2018 Masters?
Yes, yes he is. Johnson will be in the final grouping on Thursday afternoon in round one. It is an exciting grouping, as Johnson will be playing his first two rounds of golf in this iconic tournament Justin Rose and Rafa Cabrera Bello. They will take to the links at 2:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 5. The trio will have an earlier tee time on Friday in round two at 11:04 a.m. ET.
Since winning his first career major in the 2016 U.S. Open, Johnson has been on fire on the PGA Tour. He has won seven tournaments since, including the Sentry Tournament of Champions back in January. Having him in the final pairing on Thursday and Friday is all you need to know about what the tournament thinks about Johnson’s chances of winning his first Masters.
That being said, we will have Tiger Woods back in the fold. Is Johnson ready to deal with a re-energized Tiger feeding off the crowd in the back-nine on Sunday afternoon? Should he be up for the challenge, Johnson can win his second career major and his first career green jacket. Definitely keep an eye on him this week at Augusta.
