Here’s a few picks and predictions for the 2018 edition of The Masters.

It’s the first week of April and you know what that means: It’s time once again for The Masters –and what a golf tournament the first major championship of 2018 is shaping up to be.

What does the Augusta National have in store for us this year? It’s provided some of the greatest moments in golf history and this year is sure to be no different. But the question is out there: Who will give us the biggest moment of the 2018 Masters? Who is going to go home with the green jacket? There’s never an easy answer to that question and this year may be more difficult to predict than any in recent memory.

There is, however, at least one guarantee: This is not the year for the dark horse. With all due respect, this is not a Trevor Immelman type of year.

For one, the field at the 2018 Masters is going to be the smallest it’s been in quite some time and some of those competitors are going to be some of the older champions that come back each and every year for one more shot at glory. Sure, sometimes these guys hang around for a day or two and give us a nice story to write but guys like Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer, Larry Mize or Mark O’Meara aren’t going to be slipping on a new green jacket in Butler Cabin on Sunday evening.

Then you’ve got the amateurs in there. With Bobby Jones’ rich history, it’s great that amateurs are a part of this event but there’s just no chance of any of them really competing on this golf course.

Furthermore, the best players in the world are all playing such great golf right now. Pretty much all of them are hitting their stride coming into Augusta. Nobody outside the Top 25 in the Official World Golf Ranking that’s not named Tiger Woods is winning this year. Watching the top players in the world recently, it’s hard to not pick one of them here.

So here’s what we’ll do. We’ll take a quick look at the top players in the world and what they’ve been up to and whether or not they can win this week. We’ll then take a look at a few others, including Tiger and Phil, and then make an official pick. Sound good to you? Let’s get rolling.
