The Mountain Dew flavor that used to be exclusive to Taco Bell is coming back to stores, and Chase Elliott will sport its colors during the short track action at Bristol this month.

It used to be that you had to make a run for the border to get Mtn Dew Baja Blast, a flavor that was only dispensed at the fountains at Taco Bell. PepsiCo let fans everywhere experience it in bottles and cans for a limited time once already, and it’s coming back for another run very soon — and NASCAR star Chase Elliott is ready to help greet it.

As you can see in the pic above, Elliott will drive the No. 9 Mtn Dew Baja Blast Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 15. The press release says you’ll “be able to spot Chase’s position at any point of the race,” and that’s probably true since Baja Blast has such a unique color that goes with its tropical lime flavor.

Elliott has already flown the standard Mountain Dew colors once this season, with a cool green and black paint scheme on his Hendrick Motorsports Chevy for the Clash at Daytona. Dew and Hendrick have a relationship that goes back a while and has seen the soda sponsor other drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr.

There’s also a certain marketing synergy that could be in play for the Bristol spring race too, since it’s the Food City 500. Call it a hunch, but we expect Food City will have bottles and cans of Mtn Dew Baja Blast available once the flavor makes its return on April 23.
