As the 2018 MLB season gets to the one-week-old mark, here are five players to add off the waiver wire in your fantasy baseball league.

The 2018 MLB season is now one week old, with just enough of a sample size to start reacting to. The fantasy baseball season is a similar long haul to the “real” season, but the waiver wire is always worth checking out to churn roster depth and take advantage of a positive trend.

Dropping a lot of guys on your fantasy roster that have underperformed through a handful of games or a couple outings on the mound is obviously not sound strategy. But with position value or scarcity in mind, sticking with someone too long can put you in catch-up mode very quickly.

Here are five waiver wire adds to check on, and move to add, in your fantasy baseball league right now.

Note: All stats are through game action on April 4.

5. Michael Conforto, OF, New York Mets

Conforto is returning faster than expected from shoulder surgery last September, and he’s hitting leadoff and playing center field in his season debut Thursday against the Washington Nationals.

Before getting injured last year, Conforto hit 27 home runs with 68 RBI and a .939 OPS over 440 plate appearances  (109 games) for the Mets. There’s a fairly narrow window to add him in fantasy leagues, but Conforto is worth checking on now that he’s back in the lineup.
