Manchester United beat Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad on Saturday, April 7. Here are all the highlights from the Premier League match.

Manchester United came from two goals down to beat Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday, and ensure their city rivals have to wait at least another week before wrapping up the Premier League title.

City dominated the first half, and could have taken the lead as early as the fifth minute, when Ashley Young appeared to handle the ball after slipping in the penalty area while trying to cut out a cross, but Martin Atkinson deemed the contact accidental.

The home side eventually, deservedly, took the lead in the 25th minute, Vincent Kompany heading in emphatically from six yards after fighting off Chris Smalling to get on the end of Leroy Sane’s corner.

From there, what had been a relatively even game flipped decisively in City’s favor. Ilkay Gundogan doubled the lead in the 31st minute, poking past David de Gea after receiving Raheem Sterling’s pass with a lovely turn on the run.

Sterling could have made it three or four in the remaining 15 minutes of the half, but missed the target twice when played clean through on goal. Still, the quality of the chances was indicative of how completely Pep Guardiola’s side were in control.

City would come to rue those missed chances, however, as Paul Pogba scored twice in two minutes in the first 10 minutes of the second half, completing two well-worked United moves from close range.

With City reeling, Smalling gave United the lead in the 59th minute, finishing Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick unmarked at the back post. There was a hint of offside, but it was too close to call it a decisive mistake from the lineman.

From there, Guardiola brought on Gabriel Jesus, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero in an effort to chase the game. While City pegged United back, and probably should have had a penalty for an Ashley Young foul on Aguero, they couldn’t break down the visitors’ defense.
