On top of their salaries from their respective franchises, players in the NBA 2K League can fatten their wallets with their performances in the inaugural season.

Now that the NBA 2K League Draft has been completed and training camps are about to begin, the league has announced details about the regular season, playoffs and finals which includes the prize pools for the teams who claim victory.

The regular season will last 15 weeks and begin on May 1 with a Tip-Off Tournament that will cover the first five days of May. After that, there will be four weeks of weekly matchups which will culminate in the first of two two-day tournaments seeded according to teams’ records during the previous four weeks of weekly matchups.

That process of four weekly matchups followed by the second in-season tournament will then repeat itself. The regular season will then end in four more weeks of weekly matchups. All in-season tournaments and weekly matchups will take place on Fridays and Saturdays.

Playoff spots will be determined by the best records in the weekly matchups over the entire season, and seven teams will qualify. An eighth team will be awarded a playoff spot by winning the second in-season tournament. If the winner of the second in-season tournament has one of the top eight records, then the top eight teams will qualify for the postseason.

The postseason will consist of two rounds, with the quarterfinals being single elimination on Aug. 17 and the semifinals being best-of-three on Aug. 18. The NBA 2K Finals will also be best-of-three and take place on Aug. 25. With that schedule structure understood, it’s clear how one team could split most of $1 million if it is able to win all three regular season tournaments and the Finals.

NBA 2K players can win the following prize pools for the in-season tournaments and the playoffs:

  • Tip-Off Tournament: $100,000
  • First in-season tournament: $150,000
  • Second in-season tournament: $150,000
  • Playoff pool, with Finals champion guaranteed half: $600,000
