It sounds as though David Haller will come face-to-face with the Shadow King in the second episode of Legion season 2

We learned in the season 2 premiere of Legion that the Shadow King, the mutant consciousness that had infected David in season 1, wanted to reunite with its original body. This is the body that bears the name Amahl Farouk. We saw Farouk briefly in the season premiere, he was the person who had Lenny and Oliver trapped in his eye/mind, I think.

If that happens then the Division 3 teams search will have gone pretty well. I mean, as far as we know they have searched for the Shadow King, without success, ever since David disappeared. Syd even claimed they had come close to finding him more than once. Cary’s submersion chamber (or whatever its called) might help with that, David seemed to get at least glimpses a few times in the premiere.

The synopsis FX released for the episode doesn’t tell us much about how this encounter will take place. Because of that, I believe it will have more to do with David recognizing the Shadow King in his mind/memories than meeting face to face.

The official synopsis for the second episode from Legion’s second season, from TV Guide, can be read below.

"“David meets his oldest enemy.”"

Deceptively simple. The ‘oldest enemy’ is clearly a reference to the Shadow King, but Legion would never do something as simple as having David and the Shadow King actually meet each other, in the real (ish) world, each knowing who they are. How they choose to do that should be interesting.
