The San Francisco 49ers have been very active in free agency, and some like them to seriously challenge in the NFC West next season. However, the Los Angeles Rams have also been very active, and the 49ers may have to settle for a Wild Card. Still, this is a team on the rise, and with Jimmy Garoppolo in place as the starting quarterback, things are just getting started for the organization.

When it comes to the 2018 NFL Draft, the 49ers need to make sure they bring in someone to help in the secondary. They made a nice signing by bringing in Richard Sherman, but the lack of depth at cornerback is alarming. With the ninth overall selection, they should look to add Denzel Ward, who is the best pure cornerback this draft class has to offer.

Ward had to work his way up the ladder at Ohio State, which seems to add a first round talent to their unit every year. Judging by his physical skills, Ward is going to be a great player at the next level, because he is not afraid to go man up and cover people. He also is not afraid to bring the hits, and with the talent already added in San Francisco, a good draft should make them a playoff team in 2018.
