Ah, the end of the NBA regular season, when every podcast, website and writer perfunctorily announces their awards ballot. Recognizing that most of these debates have been both 1) beaten into the ground and 2) mostly agreed upon, we at Fastbreak Breakfast save our energies and merely focus on a single argument: Who is the LEAST valuable player? Which player, because of his role, salary, and deleterious effect to his team both on court and off truly stood out?

In addition to picking our ignominious winner, we also preview the eight matchups of the first round of the playoffs. (It’s hard to avoid all podcast tropes.) Which top three seed is most likely to lose? Who will be the most unexpected and unheralded hero? Which team has the most fortuitous path?

In addition the following topics are addressed:

  • Some basic facts about Ben Simmons no one can dispute
  • Was the ending of the Nuggets/Timberwolves play-in game marred by bad decisions?
  • The Lakers manufactured some headlines with a human interest story during the last week. Is the best part of the story still untold?
  • What will you do with your free time now that the regular season is over?

All Fastbreak Breakfast episodes are also available for download on iTunes and Soundcloud.
