The No. 1 seed Houston Rockets (65-17) host the No. 8 Minnesota Timberwolves (47-35) in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals Sunday evening. Here’s everything you need to know to watch Game 1.

After winning a franchise-record 65 regular-season games, the Houston Rockets begin their quest for the 2018 NBA championship Sunday evening when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves for Game 1 of their first-round series at 9 p.m. ET. The game will air on TNT and can be streamed via the TNT app or TNT Overtime.

Heading into the playoffs, FiveThirtyEight gives the Rockets a 57 percent chance of making it to the NBA Finals and a 44 percent of winning the championship, but their first-round series against Minnesota may not be a cakewalk. Had swingman Jimmy Butler not missed more than a month with a torn meniscus, the Timberwolves might have clinched their postseason berth long before the final day of the regular season.

This series isn’t lacking in star power, from MVP front-runner James Harden and Chris Paul in Houston and Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns on the Timberwolves. Harden and Paul quickly eviscerated any preseason concerns about their distribution of touches, orchestrating the league’s second-best offense while helping Houston lead the league in both 3-pointers made (15.3) and attempted (42.3) per game. The Timberwolves, meanwhile, tout a below-average defense and ranked dead last in both 3-pointers made (8.0) and attempted (22.5).

For Minnesota to pull off the first-round upset, Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns and Co. will have to ward off any fatigue they’re feeling after playing an enormous number of minutes during the regular season. Head coach Tom Thibodeau’s lack of confidence in his bench could be an issue in this series, as Houston has no shortage of role players — from Trevor Ariza and P.J. Tucker to Eric Gordon and Joe Johnson — who could help swing a game or two.

While Minnesota’s starting five could put a scare into Houston, the Rockets’ far superior depth should give them the advantage in this series. Come 9 p.m. ET Sunday, we’ll find out just how heavily Thibodeau leans on Butler, Towns and Co. at the expense of his reserves.
