The Detroit Lions have a new head coach and a lot of new faces. Is the club ready to get back in the playoffs after a near-miss in 2017?

There’s a new man in charge in the Motor City. Despite four respectable seasons under head coach Jim Caldwell, the Detroit Lions opted for a change at the top. General manager Bob Quinn brought in a familiar face in former New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. The connection goes back to the duo’s day in Foxborough.

The new sideline leader inherits a 9-7 football team that just missed out on making a second consecutive playoff appearance. The Lions were extremely busy this offseason adding new pieces. But will they pay off under the guidance of their new head coach?

Meanwhile, it should be quite the reunion of sorts when the Lions host the Patriots this year. Will the pupil have some surprised in store for teacher Bill Belichick.
