Shortstop, High End Spend

Francisco Lindor, $4,100

.200/.200/.200 with 0 HR in 5 at-bats

You already know what the numbers are for Dylan Bundy against lefty hitters. Lindor might still be floating on cloud nine after he hit the home run in Puerto Rico and he’s got another solid matchup tonight. Lindor has career marks of a .284 batting average, .809 OPS and a .344 wOBA. He only strikes out 13.8 percent of the time and hits the ball hard just 29.9 percent. He’s definitely expensive but he could be a very important piece to a Cleveland stack this evening.

Also Consider – Carlos Correa, $4,500 and Paul DeJong, $3,700

Mid-Range

Marcus Semien, $3,600

.333/.333/.333 with 0 HR in 6 at-bats

Semien could be a very interesting option tonight because of a lefty on the mound and Pomernanz making his first start. The Oakland shortstop hit lefties pretty well throughout his career with a .276 average, .791 OPS, and a .340 wOBA. Hopefully he’ll be towards the top of the order so we can get the most out of the play. Oakland players in general will be one of the teams that we can look towards for some fantasy goodness tonight. Semien hasn’t been known for his consistency but he hasn’t put up a zero in his last 19 games.

Also Consider – Freddy Galvis, $3,000 and Eduardo Escobar, $2,900

Value

Jean Segura, $2,700

.000/.000/.000 with 0 HR in 3 at-bats

The Texas Rangers are throwing Mike Minor tonight, who isn’t quite as bad as some perceive him to be. Still, this price for Segura just seems way too low. He’s the 26th shortstop on the list and I just can’t figure out why. There’s nothing that stands out like a sore thumb for this play other than the price point. If you’re going to fit in Kershaw and possibly one big bat, Segura seems like a great choice because he comes with plenty of upside, especially if the Texas staff falls apart during the game.

Also Consider – Jedd Gyorko, $2,400
