Better keep hitting the books as a backup plan, just in case.

It’s hard to overstate the impact Fortnite has had over the past few months, but in case you needed any more evidence of what a phenomenon it’s become, there’s this: Colleges are now giving college scholarships for people who are good at it.

At least one college is. Variety reports that Ashland University in Ohio is the first college to announce scholarships specifically for Epic Games’ monster video game hit. The coach for Ashland’s upcoming team told the publication that Fortnite scholarship holders will be treated exactly like athletes, with emphasis on their physical conditioning, well-adjusted social lives and yes, academics.

The thinking here is that Ashland and other schools are jockeying for talented Fortnite players because of the expectation that it will eventually become a bona fide esport. That hasn’t been the case so far; though it and all battle royale video games are inherently competitive, the primary game mode where 100 people fight for survival until only one is left standing isn’t exactly tailor made for esports.

Still, squads could make for competitive play, as could some variation of the new 50v50 mode added in the game’s most recent update. There are all kinds of possibilities for Epic Games to explore, and Fortnite‘s wild popularity means there will be plenty of interest once the company figures out what direction it wants to take in esports.

In the meantime, colleges like Ashland and Missouri Baptist University, which Variety also says is putting together a team, are getting ahead of the curve. Don’t plan on getting a full ride to college just because you eliminated Ninja once, but definitely keep on playing just in case your skills end up literally paying your school bills.
