With a new offensive coordinator and several new key contributors on both sides of the ball, LSU has plenty of questions to answer in the spring game.

Ed Orgeron has had his share of challenges since he took over as head coach at LSU four games into the 2016 season. He was able to right the ship after taking over a 2-2 team from Les Miles to finish 8-4. Last year, his first full season at the helm, he kept the Tigers on track and guided them to a 9-4 season after things looks to be flying off the rails early in the year.

In his second spring, entering his second full season, Coach O looks to be facing the biggest challenge of his brief tenure at LSU. His offense is replacing a quarterback, its top two receivers, a potential first round draft pick at running back, and most of the offensive line.

If the lack of continuity in terms of personnel wasn’t enough, LSU will be breaking in a third offensive coordinator in as many seasons in Steve Ensminger in addition to replacing three other coaches.

The question mark on offense, particularly in the passing game, is a familiar narrative in Baton Rouge. But in years past there’d been an All-SEC defense coming back to offset at least some of the offense’s shortcomings. The defense should be solid again but will be relying on more youth than a typical season after losing six starters from a year ago, including three of the team’s top four pass rushers.

With questions on both sides of the ball, newcomers on the field and the sidelines, there’s a lot to watch in this Saturday’s spring game at Tiger Stadium.

LSU’s spring game kicks off on Saturday, April 21 at 5:00 PM CST. You can watch online if you start a free 7-day trial with Fubo TV.
