Rapper Meek Mill has been released from prison and it will be pandemonium if he rings the bell during pregame introductions at tonight’s Sixers game.

With an assist from the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court, rapper Meek Mill has been granted bail and will be released from jail. The Philadelphia native’s hit song Dreams and Nightmares had become a popular rallying cry for the city during the Eagles run to the Super Bowl. Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin and comedian Kevin Hart are reportedly on their way to pick up the rapper from state prison in Chester.

We can only assume what will come next — courtside seats next to Hart and franchise icon Allen Iverson for tonight’s game at the Wells Fargo Center against the Miami Heat and a chance to ring the bell before tip-off.

The first-round series between the Sixers and the Miami Heat has already been a chippy, physical affair with high energy from both sides. The Sixers will be looking to clinch, and the presence of another city icon on the sidelines might be enough to blow the roof off the building. Area structural engineers are being asked to report to the floor to monitor potential seismic activity.

Apparently, All-Star center Joel Embiid is also feeling overjoyed about Meek’s release. As if Embiid needed an extra boost to help him get up for his opportunity to send Hassan Whiteside home for the season.

The rapper issued a statement of his own through his Twitter account.

Obviously, Sixers and Philly fans are responding to the news with a very reasonable, logical outlook.

Everything has been coming up aces for Philly sports so far this year with the Eagles winning their first title, The Process roaring into the playoffs and even the Phillies looking like a winning ballclub. Getting Meek back to enjoy the ride is just the icing on the cake. A wise man once said, “Imagine enjoying a sport in Philadelphia.” Indeed.
