Dzanan Musa. 22. player. 24. . F. Cedevita

If the best teams in the league have multiple dynamic shooters across all positions, then it stands to reason that the rebuilding Bulls would try their darnedest not to simply stop with Lauri Markkanen’s suave offensive style. They should try to replicate it, and really light opposing defenses aflame.

Musa is not in Markkanen’s tier as a scorer yet, mostly because the interior game Markkanen needed as Arizona’s top option two seasons ago is not required of Musa, who is like a big JJ Redick in Cedevita’s system. Yet his skill holds up when the defense pressures him to make decisions — Musa can attack close-outs and finish softly, or rockabye his defender into a step-back 3.

With Markkanen at the 4 and Musa on the wing, teams would be pushed to the brink accounting for everyone on the court. Defense would be a concern, sure, but playing both together still allows for a defensive center to plug any leaks that pop open. They even have a reasonable option for that role in Robin Lopez already on the roster.

Adding wing talent should be one of Chicago’s biggest offseason priorities, and Musa is an interesting step in the right direction in terms of the Bulls’ potential offensive versatility with Markkanen in place.
