2019 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select Nick Bosa at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The San Francisco 49ers are going to be one of the more exciting teams in the NFL this season, as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo just refuses to lose NFL games. This offseason, they did a nice job adding talent to the roster on both sides of the ball, including cornerback Richard Sherman, and running back Jerick McKinnon. They should be a playoff team this season, and if Jimmy G continues to carve up the NFL, that trade they made last year will continue to look even better.
With their first round pick in 2018, the 49ers grabbed Notre Dame left tackle Mike McGlinchey. A mountain of a man, McGlinchey will team with Joe Staley to give the team quite the bookends next season. That will enable this offense to continue to get better, and the hope is the defense can take the kind of strides they did towards the end of last season in 2018.
While Sherman was a nice get this offseason, he is getting older, so the team should spend their first round pick on a cornerback. Greedy Williams from LSU is a dominant player at the position, and plays with the kind of fire you need from a top cornerback. The NFC West is going to be a solid division for a long time, and the 49ers need to make sure their defensive backfield is a priority if they want to be a contender to win it every year.
