2019 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select Nick Bosa at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears bolstered their defense big time in the 2018 NFL Draft, selecting Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith with the No. 8 overall pick. Smith was definitely a first round talent, and he is going to do big things in the Windy City during his career. To add to the new Monsters of the Midway, the Bears should spend their first round pick on the defense again in 2019, bringing in an elite defensive tackle.
That player is Ed Oliver, who many believe would have been a top-10 pick if he had been in the 2018 NFL Draft. Oliver is a freak of an athlete, and has been incredible productive since starting as a true freshman for Houston. He is the kind of player that Bears fans will come to love, because he is fast, big, and really loves to come up and make the big hit.
The Bears drafted their franchise quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky in 2017, and the process of this team getting better will be in high gear this season. The problem is, they currently are the worst team in their division, so they are going to take their lumps in 2018. New head coach Matt Nagy was a great higher, and while this season will have growing pains, the Bears are going to be back before long.
