FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Wednesday, May 2
Main Slate – Brewers at Reds
Brewers Probable Starter – Wade Miley, LHP
Season Debut, Splits are from 2017
Vs LHH – .228 average, .304 wOBA 32.9 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .294 average, .374 wOBA 32.5 hard contact rate
The Reds might be salivating at the matchup they have on tap tonight. Not only is Miley making his debut for the 2018 season, he wasn’t all that good in 2017. The ERA was over 5.60 and the WHIP was over 1.70. If you bat right handed and you play for the Cincinnati Reds, you’re going to be a play in any format tonight. Heck, even a lefty like Joey Votto is in play since he’s so locked in right now. I wouldn’t go heavy on the lefty bats as Miley did hold his own against that handedness. It’s hard not to love Eugenio Suarez tonight given his reasonable price, his production since returning from the DL and playing at home tonight.
Reds Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Eugenio Suarez, Jose Peraza
Secondary Options – Joey Votto, Adam Duvall, Tucker Barnhart
Reds Probable Starter – Luis Castillo, RHP
7.85 ERA, 1.67 WHIP 7.53 K/9
Vs LHH – .321 average, .466 wOBA 45.2 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .277 average, .316 wOBA 25.0 hard contact rate
One of the biggest surprises of the 2018 season has been the downfall of Luis Castillo. He flashed brilliance last season and had one of the best changeups in baseball. He’s just getting destroyed this year even though he still has all the raw talent. Its not coming together and as bad as the numbers have been, facing lefties has been the one thing that really gets to Castillo. I’m not saying the righties for the Brewers aren’t in play, but the lefties are far and away the priority for me out of this game. Castillo could turn things around in a hurry so I’m not completely on board with a full on Brewers stack in cash games. I’m still a believer that Castillo can figure things out and Milwaukee does strike out at a decent clip.
