17. LeBron James over Jason Terry

Some dunks are just way funnier than others, and LeBron James throwing down this alley-oop over Jason Terry is one of the funniest dunks ever.

The sequence begins when Dwyane Wade picks Terry’s pocket near half court and in a single motion flips the ball to Almario Chalmers. Chalmers tosses the ball ahead to Norris Cole who then lifts it up for a trailing LeBron James. In the midst of all of this, Terry is alone on a green island trying to defend a 4-on-1 fastbreak that started fewer than 40 feet away from the basket.

The execution saw four men touch the ball without the ball touching the floor and ended with James catching a lob and Terry’s body mid-air. Terry, who turned from Cole to James immediately knows the end is near and does everything he can to protect himself from a 6-8 monster coming full speed down the lane with little to no regard for his health.

Terry ends up going from perpendicular to parallel to the floor in less than a second, and as he lays there wondering where it all went wrong, he gets to feel the sheer intensity of James who is just glaring at him for simply breathing the air in the TD Garden. The whole thing played out like those old NBA Street games with James soaring for the finish.
