The Boston Celtics look to close out the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 of the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Philadelphia 76ers were just toes away from a Game 3 victory over the Boston Celtics. Instead, Marco Belinelli’s feet were on the line, turning his game-winning shot into a game-tying shot at the end of regulation.

In overtime, Brad Stevens (and Al Horford) took over.

Instead of a 2-1 series lead for the Celtics, they head into Game 4 with a 3-0 series lead and a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for a second straight season.

While most will focus on the genius of Stevens and his out-of-timeout calls, the Sixers did everything they could to help out the Celtics. A turnover with five seconds remaining in regulation led to a Jaylen Brown layup. Instead of getting the last shot in a tie game, they had to settle for Belinelli’s non-game-winning shot.

A steal by Horford in the final seconds of overtime, and subsequent free throws, pushed the Celtics lead from one to three.

Those two turnovers cost Philadelphia two opportunities to set the confetti off at the right time.

Aside from Robert Covington failing to make a shot, the Sixers got what they hoped for in Game 3. Joel Embiid had 22 points and 19 rebounds. Ben Simmons posted 16 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. J.J. Redick had 18 points of his own. Philadelphia had three other players in double figures.

The late game heroics of Horford overshadowed the trio Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Terry Rozier once again coming up huge for Boston. They combined for 58 points on 54 percent shooting.
