LeBron vs. Michael Jordan: The debate that will never end
Is Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player of all time? Has LeBron James finally overtaken him? Who knows, but let’s argue forever!
The debate is never going to end. In 500 years, people are going to be talking about whether LeBron James or Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time, even though by that juncture, the world will probably not understand why humans played sports instead of robots.
In essence, LeBron and MJ will be looked at the way we see Bismack Biyombo now. Just some average dude who makes a lot of money.
All that said, our Mark Carman tried to put an end to the madness. in the video below, Carm goes all out in hopes of trying to make sense of the argument, pointing out that Jordan won six championships and a half-dozen NBA Finals MVP awards to boot.
Does being perfect in the Finals matter? I sit more impressive than getting to the final round eight times, and seven consecutive years? Who knows, it is all in the eye of the beholder.
Most people who watched Jordan will always defend him, especially if they saw him as a youth.Fans have a tendency to glorify the players they watched as a kid, which is why your dad will tell you that Johnny Unitas is the greatest quarterback to ever live, if though if he played today, he would roughly be equivalent to Matt Moore.
As the years go on, the sport and the training/science behind it evolves. James is the better athlete, although it’s hard to argue that he’s a greater competitor than Jordan, making this debate both fun and absolutely mind-numbing all at the same time.
