Cubs at Braves

Cubs Probable Starter – Yu Darvish, RHP

6.00 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 11.10 K/9

Vs LHH – .276 average, .374 wOBA, 33.0 fly ball rate and 30.9 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .234 average, .345 wOBA, 40.5 fly ball rate and 27.9 hard contact rate

Darvish is scheduled to return form the disabled list tonight but he may as well stay there given how poorly he’s pitched so far this year. Other than two starts against the Brewers, he hasn’t even made it out of the fifth inning yet. His price is low but not worth the risk he brings to the table. My favorite player of the Atlanta lineup tonight is Freddie Freeman since he’s mashing righty pitching. Feel free to mix in players like Nick Markakis, Ender Inciarte and maybe even Kurt Suzuki. It should be noted that Jose Bautista has hit two home runs in his last three games.

Braves Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Freddie Freeman, Kurt Suzuki

Secondary Options – Nick Markakis, Ender Inciarte, Ozzie Albies, Ronald Acuna

Braves Probable Stater – Mike Foltynewicz, RHP

3.21 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 10.07 K/9

Vs LHH – .200 average, .304 wOBA, 41.5 fly ball rate and 37.7 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .247 average, .298 wOBA, 32.3 fly ball rate and 36.7 hard contact rate

The Cubs could actually be a sneaky stack option tonight because Foltynewicz is a pitcher that some people don’t know what to do with. The metrics are fine and he’s not a bad pitcher but the Cubs are just a good offense. They’re in the top 10 in a lot of offensive categories and they could do some damage tonight. I think you’re going to stick with the main names in this lineup, starting with the trio of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber. If you’re looking solely at price, Schwarber is the cheapest but is still $4,000.

Cubs Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Kyle Schwarber

Secondary Options – Willson Contreras, Javier Baez

Home Run Pick – Javier Baez as he kills fastballs

Cardinals at Twins

Cardinals Probable Starter – Jack Flaherty, RHP

3.60 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 9.90 K/9

Vs LHH – .235 average, .300 wOBA, 25.0 fly ball rate and 66.7 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .316 average, .376 wOBA, 38.5 fly ball rate and 38.5 hard contact rate

I might have mild interest in Flaherty tonight. His stats need to be taken with a grain of salt as he’s only had two starts this season. He’s shown some strikeout upside so far and he controls lefties a little bit better than righties. If you decide to roll with the Twins, Brian Dozier and Eduardo Escobar might be the best bets. Those are the bats that could take Flaherty out of the yard tonight. I think it might be best to be a little cautious with Twins batters tonight. He has 31.1 innings pitched in the majors. There’s not a huge truck record to figure out what to pick on here.

Twins Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Brian Dozier

Secondary options – Eduardo Escobar, Max Kepler, Byron Buxton

Twins Probable Starter – Jose Berrios, RHP

4.50 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 7.83 K/9

Vs LHH – .225 average, .293 wOBA, 34.3 fly ball rate and 25.7 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .221 average, .291 wOBA, 36.9 fly ball rate and 24.6 hard contact rate

When someone figures out what to do with Jose Berrios, please tweet me and let me know. He’s got oodles of talent but hasn’t been able to put it together lately. Just from his raw stuff, Berrios should be striking out quite a bit more than he is. The Cardinals are just run of the mill in many offensive categories but that includes strikeout rate. I honestly think I will have very little exposure to this game as a whole.

Cardinals Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Tommy Pham

Secondary Options – Jose Martinez, Paul DeJong

Home Run Pick – Max Kepler
