A female student at NYU celebrated her graduation at Yankee Stadium, but she wasn’t afraid to show off her pride for her favorite team.

The sign of a true fan is when you aren’t afraid to waltz into an opposing city and proudly display the colors of your favorite team. Now, waltzing into the city is one thing, but it takes it to another level when you do it at an opposing team’s stadium.

That’s what a female student named Rachael did during her graduation from NYU on Wednesday. The graduation ceremony took place at the one and only Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, but Rachael proudly showed off her pride her favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.

As shown in her tweet, Rachael decided to wear a Cubs jersey underneath her graduation gown. Not a bad idea if you’re a diehard Cubs fan. It was a pretty good day all around for Rachael, as not only did she graduate from college, but she also received a response on Twitter from her favorite team.

As part of the Fandom 250, FanSided likes to celebrate all the different fan bases out there in the world and how passionate those fans are about what they love. And there aren’t many fans that are more loyal and passionate than those of the Chicago Cubs.

Sure, there has never been true hatred between the Cubs and the New York Yankees, given how the two teams are in separate leagues. But you don’t necessarily need a rivalry to bring out the passion. Sometimes just being in an opposing stadium is enough, and being the avid Cubs fan that she is, Rachael took advantage of this opportunity to show it. That’s what fandom is all about.

Also, as a fan of the Boston Red Sox, I can appreciate Rachael’s move here. Anybody who walks into Yankee Stadium and shuns the Yankees is alright in my book.
