2. Mo Bamba

No one was surprised that Bamba measured out as an extremely long big man. The fact that he shattered Rudy Gobert’s wingspan record in the event did raise more than a few eyebrows.

Those eye-popping measurements should solidify Bamba’s status as a top-10 pick. Going into the combine, there seemed to be an undercurrent of concern about Bamba’s motor. His athletic testing at the Combine has changed the conversation about him entirely.

Now scouts are asking themselves whether or not Bamba can replicate Gobert’s impact on the defensive end of the floor. That puts him in a different stratosphere as a draft prospect. Instead of struggling to stay in the top-10, now Bamba is trying to force his way up into the top five.

There’s a long time between now and the NBA Draft, but Mo Bamba and his representatives have to be ecstatic about how the process has started for the towering center. It’s hard to imagine the Combine going any better for the former Longhorns star.
