The Lynx and the Sparks begin their respective 2018 WNBA seasons against each other — a rematch of the 2017 WNBA Finals. Here’s all the information you need to watch online.

The Lynx and the Sparks were the two best offenses in the WNBA last season. They were also the best defenses. They finished with the two best records as well, losing just 15 games between them all season long. They carried this rivalry through to a five-game classic in the WNBA Finals that finished with the Lynx taking home their fourth title in seven years.

The Lynx enter this season, and their opening night matchup with the Sparks, leaning on the same core they have for years — Maya Moore, Lindsay Whalen, Seimone Augustus and reigning MVP Sylvia Fowles. They have significantly rebuilt the supporting cast around them, hoping to add some youth and energy but the same mix of elite talent and veteran experience will be carrying them.

The Sparks have more than enough talent to keep up with the Lynx. Candace Parker and Nneka Ogwumike led Los Angeles in scoring last season, and the dead-eye outside shooting of Chelsea Gray, who led the WNBA in 3-point percentage last season, present a defense with a series of impossible choices.

These two teams are very familiar with each other and there’s every reason to think this season opener could be a prelude to another incredible playoff matchup down the road.

The WNBA has also announced an incredible initiative this season, donating $5 from the sale of every ticket to a charitable organization chosen from a slate of options by the purchaser. In addition, the league will donate an additional ticket to send a young woman or girl to a future WNBA game. If you’re in a WNBA city and have a chance to attend a game in person this year, don’t miss your chance to see top notch basketball and do some good.
