New Girl’s Lamorne Morris stars in UNINTERRUPTED’s Crossover: The Story of Laurence Moses Bryant, where he recalls once crossing over LeBron James in Akron.

New Girl’s Winston Bishop is Laurence ‘Larry’ Bryant, the man who claims to have once crossed over LeBron James… Except no one was there to see it. The new faux-documentary features cameos from James’ long time friend and business partner Maverick Carter and ESPN analyst / Akorn native Brian Windhorst. Though he calls himself the Kingslayer, Larry’s tale is doubted around his neighborhood. Now working as a garbage man, his close friends say there’s no questioning Larry’s passion and love for the game… But that he just isn’t that good at it.

We witness Larry bringing his talents to the courts and garbage disposal of Akorn. At one point chucking in a trash bag to the bin in clutch fashion. Along the way, Larry introduces us to his roommate grandma, shows off a plaque commemorating the crossover, and takes a trip to his local barbershop. Larry never takes off his headband, and scoffs at his 20-year King James crossover anniversary being questioned.

Maverick Carter adds humor to the production by deflecting when asking about the infamous crossover in a mock-interview. Carter confirms he knows of Larry but asks, “Is this what this is all about? One player, one game, twenty years ago? Why are we discussing this?” When the interviewer comments, “Okay, but it doesn’t sound like you’re really denying it,” Carter remains stoic, staring back in silent ‘I plead the fifth’ like fashion.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst disputes Larry’s crossover story based on the aftermath alone. Windhorst reflects that if he had truly crossed over LeBron James he would have been a legend everywhere. He also mentions that there were always people who wanted come out when LeBron was playing and get the best of him. Is Larry’s crossover tale true or a work of fiction? We’ll find out as the six-episode series continues!
