Is Solo: A Star Wars Story in IMAX? With the movie depicting Han Solo’s origin story right around the corner, we have all the information you need to get you ready for the latest Star Wars film.
Ever since Disney purchased Lucasfilm and started releasing Star Wars movies again, fans and audiences alike have been treated to a new movie every year since 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Since then, Disney and Lucasfilm put out another entry in the Skywalker saga last year in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as well as 2016’s anthology movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Now, another anthology film will open in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The movie will focus on a younger Han Solo’s beginnings before he appeared in Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope.
Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) will take over for Harrison Ford, portraying a younger version of the famous character.
Ehrenreich leads a star-studded cast that also features, among others, Donald Glover (Atlanta), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Woody Harrelson (Three Billboards Outside Ebbbing, Missouri), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Paul Bettany (Avengers: Infinity War) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag).
Glover will play a younger Lando Calrissian, while Joonas Suotamo will once again step in as Chewbacca after appearing in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi as the Wookie.
The question now is, will the movie be able to be viewed in IMAX?
That answer, in simple terms, is yes.
Moviegoers will be able to purchase tickets to IMAX showings of the film. Tickets are on sale now with opening day just a handful of days away.
