Washington Nationals are basically the Backstreet Boys

What if I were to tell you that the Washington Nationals spend their downtime acting as a Backstreet Boys cover band?

NBA team Twitter accounts have been having fun with what players have been wearing while entering the arena all season long, it was only a matter of time before other sports started getting in on all of the fun.

Twitter user @recordsANDradio shared a few screenshots from the Washington Nationals Snapchat account of the team dressed in all white before their 3-1 loss at home to the Padres, and well, this is just absolutely incredible work from the social media team.

The captions on top of the photos are, of course, from the Backstreet Boys smash hit “I Want It That Way.”

In the photos, you see Bryce Harper, Juan Soto, Anthony Rendon and Wilmer Difo dressed in all white. Tell me why they look just like a late-90s boy band ready to crush the hearts of teenage girls all over Washington DC.

The best part about this is if you pull up the “I Want It That Way” music video and jump to 0:55, the Backstreet Boys are in fact dressed in all white, none of the five members wearing the same thing just like the Nationals right before the game.

If nothing else, Harper absolutely looks the part and probably could have found himself in a boy band had he never picked up a bat. There’s no telling if the team coordinated it this look since none of the guys are wearing the same thing like the Cavs have done a few times this postseason, but regardless, this is definitely a thing we should see a whole lot more in baseball this year, because, um, I want it that way.
