If the Braves can keep control of the NL East with these trades
3. Kelvin Herrera and Mike Moustakas
The Royals are reportedly ready to start trading their players so they can rebuild for the future. Both Moustakas and Herrera are in the last years of their contracts and could make an instant impact with the Braves. Moustakas would help solve the Braves third base troubles, while Herrera can help sure up an already solid bullpen.
Moustakas and his .353 wOBA would be an upgrade over Johan Camargo’s .339. Plus, Moustakas seems like his stats will only continue to improve as he has had many quality contact in 8.4% of batted ball events, good for 30th in the MLB. However, despite Moustakas providing experience and solid hitting at third base, Herrera is the jewel of this deal. Herrera lets the Braves create a dominant back three at the end of their bullpen. He, Arodys Vizcaino, and A.J. Minter would lock down games if they were given a lead. Herrera has a 0.96 ERA and 0.75 WHIP so he would help dominate games.
Getting both of these players from the Royals may take a little bit. The Braves would likely have to give up Johan Camargo, Luiz Gohara, and Max Fried. It may even take a little more, but those three would be a foundation. This seems like a worthy trade for the Braves.
