Welcome into the Monday edition of the FanDuel daily fantasy baseball column! We have a medium size seven game slate on hand today so let’s get going!

It was a bit of a sweat on Sunday but the lineup came through in one of the last at-bats for our hitters. Domingo Santana came up clutch and put us over the cash line by a few points! The Tigers hitters were big time chalk against James Shields because players still attack him relentlessly but that worked out for us yesterday. We had a really solid week last week so let’s keep it going today!

Blue Jays at Red Sox

Blue Jays Probable Starter – Aaron Sanchez, RHP

4.07 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 16.8 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .298 average, .392 wOBA, 30.4 fly ball rate and 32.9 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .190 average, .279 wOBA, 29.2 fly ball rate and 32.6 hard contact rate

You could argue that a stack of just Red Sox lefties could be the way to go here as Sanchez struggles so much with them and Boston has a bunch of talented lefties. Mitch Moreland’s price went up to $3,900 but he’s still a great play. Andrew Benintendi is expensive but usually hits second in the lineup. J.D. Martinez should be back in the lineup after a day off but we’ll have to see about Mookie Betts. He was a late scratch yesterday. I was hoping Rafael Devers came in at a cheap price but $3,700 is too much for me. The last Boston hitter I love if he plays is Brock Holt. There’s no real reason to try and play Aaron Sanchez today.

Red Sox Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Mitch Moreland, Andrew Benintendi, Rafael Devers, Mookie Betts

Secondary Options – Brock Holt, Jackie Bradley Jr.

Red Sox Probable Starter – David Price, LHP

4.08 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 23.3 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .182 average, .248 wOBA, 33.3 fly ball rate and 18.5 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .239 average, .311 wOBA, 42.0 fly ball rate and 35.9 hard contact rate

I’ll be honest, I really don’t like this side of the game too much. Price is a much more volatile pitcher than he used to be. You could get seven strong innings from him, you could get a blow up start. Price has looks really good his past two starts, scoring over 40 points in both. He’s more of a tournament play for me today but I wonder if he’ll be popular in cash due to the nature of the pitchers on this slate. If you want to attack Price in the hopes he struggles, righty bats stand out with that fly ball rate and hard contact. Justin Smoak is the best option by the numbers but Teoscar Hernandez is a major upside play at just $2,900. I will have a hard time paying full price for Josh Donaldson given his current form.
