Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

The Real Madrid striker has the talent and scoring finesse to be considered a top talent, but he’s under-appreciated and doesn’t get enough playing time at Real Madrid. Indeed, his recent success in helping Real win the Champions League has put him at a crossroads.

His ability to strike from distance, height and ability to get past defenders makes the 28-year-old Welshman one of the best at his position in the world. He would add a lot of talent to Napoli’s offense as well as depth. While Bale would not tolerate sitting on the bench much, he would help them in key matches given his experience in La Liga, the Champions League and at national team level in major competitions.

Napoli have taken players from Real in the past. Getting Gonzalo Higuain proved a boon for Napoli until he left for Juventus. He’s more talented than Mario Balotelli, who Napoli are targeting, and less of a problem off the field. Balotelli has a long history of bad-boy antics and has served as a distraction at other clubs. Bale has not.
