Evaluating NBA Draft prospects is always a challenge for teams. These five prospects are vastly overrated at this point in the pre-draft process.

The NBA Draft is all about finding value. General Managers who consistently identify and select players who exceed their expected pick value help push their teams into the playoffs. NBA executives who consistently swing and miss when their pick comes up find themselves picking in the lottery on a regular basis.

This season, there are quite a few prospects that really divide opinion among NBA personnel. The fact that the NBA game is shifting towards pace, isolation and shooting certainly contributes to the divergence in opinions. Every team is looking for the ideal player who can guard all five positions and score from the perimeter.

Predictably, there aren’t a ton of players who fit that criteria out there. This piece will examine five players who are being significantly overvalued at the moment. We’ll start with a National Championship guard who doesn’t deserve to be in the first round.
