Taking the Georgia Bulldogs all the way to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game last season was huge for both head coach Kirby Smart and the ravenous fans in Athens, GA. Smart also led Georgia to its first SEC Championship in a long time, and also defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in a Playoff Semifinals game.

There was a lot to be proud of for Smart coming out of last year, and the Dawgs look to be a top 5 team in the nation again in 2018. He’s taken a Georgia football program that was already a top-notch team in the SEC East year in and year out and took it to what should be a title contender from here on out.

Smart hauled in quite the impressive recruiting class for the 2018 cycle, including the top quarterback in the nation in five-star prospect Justin Fields. He’s establishing a very bright future for the Dawgs under center too. At this moment, Georgia has a Heisman contender and eventual first round NFL Draft pick leading the way in rising sophomore Jake Fromm.

After Fromm is gone in Athens, it’s time for Fields to show what he can do. However, Georgia is lucky to have a recognizable and fast-rising star at the helm for head coach in Smart. The visor will continue to live on strong in Athens if Georgia can keep up the on-field performance it had in 2017.
