Among all the things that happened on the coaching carousel during the off-season, one of the weirdest was definitely the sequence of events dealing with Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State Seminoles and Texas A&M Aggies. Fisher jumped shipped from FSU for a massive contract with Texas A&M.

The hope here for Texas A&M fans is that Jimbo will be able to elevate this program to the next level beyond the slightly above mediocre results that Kevin Sumlin achieved consistently. Fisher was a great coach at FSU, up until the 2017 campaign.

On the other hand for the Aggies, Fisher could end up middling out and not excel to the degree he did while he was in the ACC, in the SEC. The SEC is an extremely tough conference to excel in, and Fisher could be the guy to do. But, we shouldn’t shoe in anything yet as a sure thing.

Texas A&M is a noteworthy college football program with a lot of strong traditions. The personality of Jimbo in combination with that tradition and ravenous fan base should make for some exciting results.
