Los Angeles Rams: Tyler Higbee vs. Gerald Everett

During the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams have been one team who has not been shy with making some moves. In fact, they have brought in an incredible selection of talent for the 2018 season, including some stars on both sides of the ball.

On defense, the Rams grabbed Ndamukong Suh, Marcus Peters, and Aqib Talib, all of which should make the Rams defense one of the best in the business this season. On offense, the Rams traded away their first round draft pick to the New England Patriots for Brandin Cooks, giving Jared Goff another weapon on the outside.

The passing game for the Rams took a major step forward this past season, as Goff went from a potential bust, to a Pro Bowl quarterback. He got ga decent season from tight end Tyler Higbee, who started all 16 games, and racked up nearly 300 yards on 25 catches.

While that is pretty good production from a tight end, it does not do enough to guarantee Higbee will be the starter again in 2018. In fact, he could be pushed by Gerald Everett, who had nearly as many receiving yards as Higbee did, despite starting only two games.

Everett was the first draft pick Sean McVay ever made as head coach, as the Rams selected him with pick No. 44 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. With Derek Carrier off to Oakland, Everett is going to get a ton of reps this summer, and he just may unseat Higbee as the main tight end in Los Angeles this upcoming season.
